General "anti-water": no longer supports Trump to block California's self-determined emissions rules

General Motors said on Monday that it will no longer support the Trump administration’s legal battle to prevent California from enacting its own emissions rules. The company's CEO Mary Barra said that GM's goal is consistent with California and the new federal government, which is to deal with climate change by drastically reducing vehicle emissions.

Barra stated in a letter to an environmental organization that GM will "withdraw from this pre-emptive lawsuit immediately and invite other automakers to join us."

In October 2019, GM worked with automakers such as Toyota and Fiat Chrysler to support the Trump administration to prevent California from enacting its own fuel efficiency rules or vehicle zero emission requirements.
