Earlier news showed that "blade battery" is a new generation of lithium iron phosphate battery newly developed by BYD. It uses its own large cell with a length greater than 0.6 meters. The battery cell has also evolved to large capacity, but the cell shape is more flat, Narrow (the long side can be customized and changed, and the maximum stable length of the monomer can reach 2100 mm), which are arranged together in an array and inserted into the battery pack like a "blade", so it is called a "blade battery" .

In addition, the "blade battery" has a 50% increase in volume specific energy density over traditional iron batteries, a 30% cost reduction, and a vehicle life of more than one million kilometers.

At the same time, the combination of BYD's CTP battery technology and lithium iron phosphate batteries will bring better temperature resistance and reduce the stability of the cruising range. The reduction of costs will also bring more competitiveness to the vehicle or Better profit margins.

It is reported that BYD's "blade battery" will be the first to be installed on the Han EV. The NEDC of the new car has a range of more than 600 kilometers and is scheduled to be launched in mid-2020.
