Recently, the rear-drive version of the Porsche Taycan, which is specially supplied by China, is on sale in overseas markets, but this is not the most exciting news. According to foreign media, the EPA has raised the endurance rating of the 2021 Taycan. Before, many people’s actual mileage was higher than the EPA value. Therefore, the Taycan’s EPA mileage is underestimated, and everyone should know that the European WLTP is 136km away from the US EPA value! The veracity of the values is questionable.
Take the Taycan 4S (93.4kwh) as an example. The EPA value has risen from the original 325km to 363km, while the Turbo and Turbo S have risen from 322km and 307km to 339km and 322km, respectively. But because EPA switched from the two-cycle test to the five-cycle test method, it still uses a more efficient two-cycle test method, we don’t know.
In China, the rear-wheel drive Taycan (93.4kwh) has a NEDC cruising range of 489km and a WTLP of 484km. When the car is launched in the United States, we will be able to see its EPA results.
