According to people familiar with the matter, the sales of AirPods Pro have exceeded Apple’s expectations, and market demand is driving Apple’s assembly partners to break through production capacity and technical restrictions. Several suppliers are scrambling for AirPods Pro production orders, although some of them are still improving production technology. Currently, AirPods pro’s delivery waiting time on Apple’s US website is 2 to 3 weeks.
At present, the most advanced wireless headset in the market is called “true wireless” headset. It not only removes the wire between the headset and the music source, but also has no wire connection between the two headsets. Airpods currently leads the real wireless headset market, which is manufactured by yingyida in Taiwan and Lixun in mainland China.
The total shipment volume of AirPods Pro this year will depend on the speed and effect of the agent industry and commerce to overcome the current production challenges. If the overall AirPods shipments this year can reach the expected 60 million, Apple’s share of the real wireless headset market should be able to maintain at 50%. Counter point research, a market research firm, expects total shipments of real wireless headphones to exceed 120 million this year.

The growth of AirPods sales this year has been driven by two iterations: the AirPods Pro released in October and the AirPods upgrade released in March.
