Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus 5G mobile platform released: main frequency up to 3GHz

Today, Qualcomm officially announced the new Snapdragon 888 Plus 5G mobile platform. As an upgraded version of Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, it has an ultra-high core frequency close to 3GHz, AI performance has also been greatly improved, and it is manufactured using 5nm technology.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus uses Kryo 680 CPU core, of which the main frequency of the super core is up to 3GHz (2.995GHz). Combined with the sixth-generation Qualcomm AI engine, its AI performance has also reached 32TOPS, which is a 20% improvement compared with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888.

As an upgraded version of Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, Snapdragon 888 Plus also has Adreno 680 GPU and Snapdragon X60 modem. It supports Elite Gaming for games and Spectra 580 ISP for video, which can handle three video streams at the same time.

Officials said that this chip will bring users a flagship smart entertainment experience, including AI-supported games, streaming, and images. In terms of games, it will provide a smoother picture and control response, allowing mobile games to further realize end-game features.

At present, brands such as Asus, Honor, Motorola, Xiaomi and vivo have announced that they will launch products equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 Plus 5G mobile platform. Among them, Honor is preparing the flagship product Magic3.

These products are expected to be released in the third quarter of this year, and everyone can look forward to their performance.
