GAC Toyota explained that the engine factory injected oil with the F scale as the standard, but with certain tolerances. The actual oil injection may exceed the F-line of the oil caliper, but it is still within the specified range. When the oil is replaced during vehicle maintenance, it may exceed the F-line of the oil level. According to the working principle of the engine, a small amount of oil is used during cold start at low temperature The incompletely combusted gasoline enters the engine oil through the gap between the piston ring and the cylinder. This is a normal phenomenon; when the oil level is measured, whether the ground is flat and the oil temperature also affects the liquid level.
An automotive research institute executive told the Future Automobile Daily that the main reason for the increase in engine oil is that during the cold start process, the engine starting mixture is not fully burned or the combustion produces part of the water vapor, which is trapped in the cylinder wall and forms a “wet wall” phenomenon. As the engine works, a small amount of water vapor and mixed combustible gas enters the crankcase from the gap between the cylinder and the piston, resulting in an increase in oil or oil emulsification. In winter, the engine is frequently started and stopped, and the warm-up is slow, which is more likely to cause this phenomenon.
What is the risk of increased or emulsified oil? The above person introduced that this may increase fuel consumption, and at the same time lead to poor engine lubrication, bearing wear and even engine scrappage.
It is worth mentioning that, unlike the investigation in which Toyota has not taken measures in China so far, Toyota has launched recalls of problematic models in Canada and the United States. Such “differential treatment” measures have caused dissatisfaction among car owners.
