On October 27, SAIC Volkswagen’s first pure electric compact SUV model ID.4 X was officially put into production at SAIC Volkswagen’s MEB New Energy Plant in Anting, Shanghai. According to reports, this car will be launched in March next year.
It is reported that this plant was built by the Volkswagen Group with an investment of 17 billion yuan, and it is also the world's first newly built MEB (Pure Electric Vehicle Modular) platform plant.
In September of this year, FAW-Volkswagen’s MEB Foshan plant officially rolled off the SOP. The ID.4 CROZZ of the MEB modular platform completed the small-batch production stage. The car will be unveiled in early November.
In addition, according to foreign media reports, ID.4 is expected to be officially listed in the United States in December, later than domestically. The difference is that these cars are temporarily sold in the United States imported from Germany, and mass production in the United States is relatively late, around 2022.
