As of July 2020, there are 1.341 million charging piles nationwide. According to data from the China Electric Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance, in July 2020, members of the alliance have reported a total of 566,000 public charging piles, including 326,000 AC charging piles. , 240000 DC charging piles, 488 AC/DC integrated charging piles.
From August 2019 to July 2020, an average of about 10,000 public charging piles were added every month. As of July 2020, the cumulative number of charging infrastructure nationwide was 1.341 million, and the number in July increased by 27.6% year-on-year.
From a geographical point of view, the characteristic of a relatively concentrated public charging infrastructure construction area still exists. The public charging infrastructure in the TOP 10 regions of Guangdong, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Beijing, Shandong, Zhejiang, Anhui, Hebei, Hubei, and Fujian accounted for 73.1%.
From the perspective of sub-operators, the concentration of public charging infrastructure operators is high. As of July 2020, there are 8 charging piles operated by Chinese charging operators, accounting for 88.6% of the total, and other operators accounting for 11.4% of the total. The TOP 3 operators are: Special Call (operating 163,000 units), Star Charging (operating 133,000 units), and State Grid (operating 88,000 units).
Affected by the epidemic, the charging infrastructure increased by 122,000 units from January to July this year, a year-on-year decrease of 49.9%. However, in the long run, the development of new energy vehicles is the general trend, and the construction speed of charging facilities will only increase but not decrease.
