Sony PS5 configuration information announced: 8-core processor, 16GB video memory

Like the previously announced Xbox Series X, the Sony PS5 also uses AMD's custom Zen2 processor, an eight-core design and a main frequency of 3.5GHz. The GPU has 36 built-in CU units with RDNA2 architecture, the frequency can reach 2.23GHz, and the computing power can reach 10.28 TFLOPS. For storage, the PS5 will have a built-in 825GB solid-state drive. It is worth noting that the hard disk throughput rate can reach 5.5GB / s, which may use the latest PCIe 4.0 protocol.

PS5 also supports SSDs that extend the NVMe protocol, but it is currently unknown whether it is a custom hard drive accessory or a conventional M.2 interface extension. If it is the latter, the user's expansion cost will be lower. Through the USB interface of the fuselage, you can also expand additional mechanical hard drives.
