Last night, Sony held a press conference to announce the configuration information of the next-generation game console PS5, and finally the hearts of major players can be put down.
Like the previously announced Xbox Series X, the Sony PS5 also uses AMD's custom Zen2 processor, an eight-core design and a main frequency of 3.5GHz. The GPU has 36 built-in CU units with RDNA2 architecture, the frequency can reach 2.23GHz, and the computing power can reach 10.28 TFLOPS. Memory and video memory share 16GB GRRD6 capacity, 256Bit width, bandwidth up to 448GB / s.
For storage, the PS5 will have a built-in 825GB solid-state drive. It is worth noting that the hard disk throughput rate can reach 5.5GB / s, which may use the latest PCIe 4.0 protocol.
PS5 also supports SSDs that extend the NVMe protocol, but it is currently unknown whether it is a custom hard drive accessory or a conventional M.2 interface extension. If it is the latter, the user's expansion cost will be lower. Through the USB interface of the fuselage, you can also expand additional mechanical hard drives. As for whether you can use the USB interface to expand the solid-state hard disk, it is still a mystery. Like the previous generation PS4, the PS5 also has a built-in 4K Blu-ray drive.
From the perspective of hardware performance, there should be no need to worry about the game effects of the PS5, but what kind of design is the PS5? I do n’t know when Sony will announce it?
