Toyota's new SUV Harrier exposed: TNGA architecture + hybrid and four-wheel drive

Harrier is a SUV model owned by Toyota. In the Japanese market, the front of the car hangs an exclusive “Harrier” logo. According to previous news, Toyota wants to introduce the car to the Chinese market and hang the Toyota logo.

A few days ago, we obtained a set of preview pictures of a new generation of Harrier models from foreign media. The car will be built on the same platform as RAV4, and they are all TNGA architecture. Located in the mid-size SUV, it is equipped with a hybrid system and is also equipped with a four-wheel drive system.

Specifically, the new car adopts a different design style from Toyota, and the eagle eye matrix combination headlights are very sharp and stylish. The vehicle’s front air intake has some Lexus design elements, and the overall sports style is distinctive.

According to the latest news obtained so far, the localization project of the new generation of Harrier, code-named FAW Toyota 941B, is expected to be named Haili. At the same time, GAC Toyota also plans to have a 942B model, which is expected to be a version of Harrier.

After the domestic production, Harrier will be positioned between RAV4 Rongfang and Highlander. It is expected to be a big five-seater SUV model. Earlier, Harrier’s first and second generation products were directly changed to Lexus RX. The third generation model began to differentiate from Lexus RX, and the level and design were different.

As the new generation of Harrier is built on the same platform as RAV4, the two models on the power will also be consistent. There are two options: 2.0L naturally aspirated engine and 2.5L hybrid power system. In addition, in the drive system, the new Harrier will provide two forms of front drive and four drive options.

It is foreseeable that with the landing of the new mid-size SUV Harrier FAW Toyota, it will complement the shortcomings of the layout of models of FAW Toyota that do not have mid-size SUVs on sale. In addition to buying Highlander, consumers also have a choice, which will also enhance Toyota’s overall strength in the domestic SUV market.
