The sales of the XC90 as the flagship SUV are also good, with a total of 1790 units sold, an increase of 20% year-on-year. The monthly sales volume is second only to last December.
However, due to the impact of the epidemic prevention and control in the previous period, the cumulative sales of Volvo in China from January to April this year were 35,504 units, which was a decrease of 15.6% compared with 42078 units in the same period last year. But this data is still better than the average domestic car market.
Speaking of Volvo cars, Geely must be mentioned. Since Geely acquired Volvo, thanks to Geely's convenience to the Volvo brand in vehicle sales channels, Volvo Cars' sales in China have also increased year after year.
The data shows that since Geely acquired Volvo, Volvo's annual sales have risen sharply for six consecutive years. Not only has it achieved profitability, but in 2019, global sales exceeded 700,000 units, with cumulative sales reaching 705,400 units. At the same time, it broke the record for the highest sales in 1993. It can be said that Geely successfully helped Volvo achieve a renaissance.
As early as 2008, at the time of the global financial crisis, Geely Automobile bought Volvo Cars for $ 1.8 billion (about RMB 12.5 billion).
